Do’s and Don'ts during the Detox Diet
Keep warm, cover yourself in a sweater and socks.
Maintain a diet with only the food items listed. Do not include snacks, morning nuts and seeds during the diet.
Keep sipping hot/warm/lukewarm water throughout the days of detox (preferably avoid drinking water at room temperature or cold water).
Avoid caffeinated beverages, juices, protein shakes, thick soups, fruits, milk and milk products.
Avoid direct exposure to wind, breeze, blow of the A/C, cold floor, cold water and excessive sunlight.
Observe abstinence (avoid sexual intercourse)
Do not suppress the natural urge of - bowel movements, urine, flatus, belching.
Be restful. Avoid activity in body, mind and speech;
Body — Do not engage in excessive physical activity, exercises, heavy workout, excessive work
Speech — Do not spend energy in talking loudly
Mind — Do not spend mental energy in intense mental work or indulging in emotions such as anger, sorrow, worrying
Do not sit or sleep throughout the day as well. Consciously walk for 10 - 15 minutes in the day.
Maintain proper sleep routine - do not sleep during the day, do not stay awake at night;
Sleep by 10 PM and wake up before 6 AM
Avoid day time sleep - if feeling drowsy you may do Yoga Nidra while seated.
